Meta tags are the HTML elements that search engines and visitors find your content. It’s what they can see in a search engine and thus, it’s important to add value in a limited number of characters. Links at the top of a page carry more weight than those further down. Google has told the SEO community time and time again that social media signals have no impact on search rankings that that social is not a direct ranking signal. While the page meta data (page description and keywords) are not nearly as important as they used to be, they still count. Take advantage of them by putting your keyword or phrase there.
SEO headings best practice
Build links as if Google didn’t even exist – links that will bring you customers in addition to rankings. If you’re struggling
to rank #1 for your brand name among other websites with a similar or the same name, a rebrand to a more unique name or URL might give you a better chance of getting to the top. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter SEO plan, and for this, all parties on the SEO bandwagon should rejoice. SEO is all about ranking high on search indexes, which can’t happen without you creating new, quality content. As you create new pages, you create opportunities for new rankings and more reach. This, in turn, leads to more keywords you can rank for. Remember, though, that quantity should never trump quality. Better content gets you better rankings.
How do you consistently create engaging content that people will actually want to read?
Some mobile sites refuse access to anything but mobile phones,
making it impossible for Googlebot to access the site, and therefore
making the site unsearchable. If you’re new
to the SEO game it's easy to be fooled into thinking that once you get the basics down it’s easy peasy, especially when you have a few small successes right away – you’ll get an inflated sense of ego and think “I got this!”. Choosing a perfect focus keyword is not an exact science. You should aim for a combination of words that are used by a search audience. Aim for a focus keyword that is relatively high on volume and aim for one that will fit your audience. Giving your personal opinion and opening up a little bit goes a long way towards creating rapport with your audience. Like many things, of course, don’t overdo it!
Wait. Is it really that simple?
The quality and quantity of links you have pointing to your domain determines your overall authority, which in turn determines where you rank for various search queries. Do you publish new content exclusively for the enjoyment of your existing audience? Or do you want it to rank high in Google and bring new visitors to your site month after month? Search engines have a limited ability to recognize images, animation, video and audio. According to Gaz Hall, a
UK SEO Consultant : "Another quick and easy strategy for hunting down long tail keywords again starts by searching one of your regular short, generic keywords. At the end of the search results page should be a list of related searches. These again can be used as long tail keywords themselves or used as suggestions for finding others."
Keep URLs short
Long tail keywords may offer more chances to show up higher in the search results, while you can also perform manual searches on your own to test the first pages of the keywords you want to target. When it comes
to long-term SEO strategies, there are so many tactics to consider. Google automatically detects which pages answer the users’ query automatically and then display the top result as a featured snippet at the top of the page. This is Google’s way of trying to help users to quickly find what they want by providing them with a snippet of information directly in the search results. Most SEO firms will tell claim it takes 4 to 6 months to start seeing results. It varies wildly but that’s generally in the ballpark for most projects. Note that SEO results are cumulative & escalate over time. If you’re getting positive results after 6 months these will compound after 12 months & re-compound thereafter. The most profitable relationships I’ve entered into with businesses have lasted for over 5 years during which time their fortunes have literally exploded.
