Once you’ve started your local SEO effort, the next stage is more aligned with the rest of SEO – creating content for your audience. In this case, we’re looking to create content of interest to a local reader. The total number of backlinks can often include many links from the same referring domain or multiple referring domains. It’s common for referring domains to link back to your content if it is relevant, authoritative or useful in some way to their own domain. Links need to actually be of interest to the reader. They must be relevant to the reader’s concerns and answer a question, provide advice, show images or do something else that is beneficial to the reader. This might sound tough, but it’s really not. There’s a danger that duplicate content will cannibalize the keywords you want to target in search. Duplicate content can be a problem on your own site, but also with any guest posts that you submit to other websites for backlinks.

Use discretion with hashtags

Google will be looking to see if you have put any time into the content or just put up some content with minimal work. They want to see that you have actually put some effort into putting together something useful to the visitor and that it is good quality content. Follow links are links that Google bots and humans can follow. The bot reaches the links and then continues onto the next page, bringing some value from the source site. A common tactic is creating dozens, if not hundreds of short backlink-containing articles, which are then placed in blogs and websites that have been created for the express purpose of SEO. Use bullet points: Using a bulleted list is the easiest way to ensure that your content doesn’t strain your visitors’ eye to read through it. Since bulleted lists stand out from the rest of your page, they make the entire piece easier to skim through.

The role of SEO

SEO-friendly URLs may not be the batter in the SEO cake mix, but they can be the frosting. Having an SEO-friendly URL is easy when using a management system, such as WordPress. A number of challenges have to be successfully passed in order to create a successful multilingual site that ranks well with Google. Many mobile devices have a text-to speech option which automatically transcribes their words into the search box. People speak differently than how they write, using different words and sentence structure. With other voice to text aids such a Alexa, more and more mobile web search queries are resembling how people speak. Ideally, if you’re running your own small business, doing your own writing establishes you as the authority. Everyone likes to deal with the owner, and this provides a way to establish many relationships with customers simply through generating your own content.

Do not hesitate to expand your niche area

A common way to judge the reputation of a website is to check its Domain Authority (DA). DA is a score (on a 100-point scale) developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engines. A site’s DA can grow over time, like a lifelong reputation. A backlink from a high DA website to your own is a strong indicator of your own authority on a topic. For instance, bbc.co.uk, a news site which is trusted the world over has a very high DA of 95. A backlink from a site like this would be powerful for your backlink profile. If you conduct business online, you need to use website analytics to track how well your site is doing. Otherwise, you’re essentially running your business blind and will have no insight into your site’s effectiveness. Before you accept posts from guest writers, double-check they haven’t been published elsewhere. Bloggers probably aren’t acting unscrupulously if they have been previously published, they may just not understand that this can cause search visibility problems. Gaz Hall, an SEO Expert from the UK, said: "While SEOs aren’t generally user experience experts, we do have a set of SEO techniques and tools that let us build a fantastic, user-targeted website. Specifically, we structure web content based on user demand."

Enable broswer caching

SEO is very simple, and unless you’re a very large company it’s probably not worth hiring somebody else to do. The meta description is not a ranking factor, but it does play an important part in optimizing your Click Through Rate (CTR). Google is getting better and better at recognizing content that truly is useful to people. A clear, direct URL is the best route to take in order to ensure that users know what they’re getting from your website and are prepared to click on it. In many cases, this can also help your ranking as an added bonus.
