Engagement with a website began to emerge as a ranking factor with the release of the Panda update by Google on February 23, 2011 SEO is very simple, and unless you’re a very large company it’s probably not worth hiring somebody else to do. It is worth noting that when it comes to link building, it is very difficult to find a site owner willing to give you a link freely. Usually you give something back in return. A search engine results page (abbreviated to SERP) is the listing of results
returned by a search engine in response to a query for a keyword or phrase.
Search engines, like Google and Bing, will return many pages of content
results for a given search term.
The first choice should be analytics
Any discrepancies might cause Google to NOT show your business' information on a search result page. Both Google and
Bing take page-loading speed into account in their website ranking algorithm. Search Engine Optimization is all about making your website more visible to people who are using search engines to look for your product, brand, or services. The search engines are always trying to improve the quality of their results and because of this, the ranking signals are adjusted daily. In most cases these are very minor tweaks, but they are changes nonetheless.
The reason you want natural, helpful, informative links
With your website already cleaned up and shining with outstanding quality content and internal SEO methods (keywords, meta tags, etc), you should have a strategy to get your website noticed by others. High authority links
are great, but in my opinion, relevant links win the game every time. You can no longer present less information on your mobile site than on your desktop site. Your content has to be the same on both, because, in the future, you can only rank on the information that is on your mobile page. Don’t stuff your footer with all kind of irrelevant links. Keep it focused, make sure these links are helping your visitor. Google will find all relevant pages if you focus on a good site structure anyway.
Pick a Keyword to Target
Choose your keywords carefully, and keep user intent as your primary goal. Having more pages that are optimized for different keywords gives you increased opportunity for traffic. It doesn't necessarily mean more traffic, though, since it depends on how popular and how competitive those new keywords are. Efficient content organization enhances the message without interfering with the content’s purpose. It’s not easy to explain this in simple, concise terms. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if you want to change content “for SEO” or “for presentation”. If you are only thinking of the SEO benefit of the proposed change then it’s the wrong change. Gaz Hall, from
SEO Hull, had the following to say: "Let’s begin with something practical – think of all the important topics our website is about. Don’t try and come up with every keyword variation, but do group your ideas in topic buckets – each bucket covering a page or closely related set of pages."
Build a dashboard in Google Analytics for tracking
Unsurprisingly, larger companies tend to outspend smaller firms when it comes to SEO. When it comes
to Search Engine Optimization, the content will play a huge role in your rankings. As they say, “Content is King, Link Building is Queen”. Remember, all the hard work you do in building up your links will be for naught if your content is garbage. On-page linking is an essential piece of the puzzle, and they impact link juice in more ways than you might anticipate. For example, links to content matter more to Google than mere navigation links. Be informative. Above all else, ensure you have informative content. The most entertaining writing doesn’t make you an authority on much more than entertainment.
